It’s the time of the month again when I’m a little more emotional than usual. I cry nearly over every single time I remember someone I miss, pray for a friend, just about anything. It’s the way I am a few days before Aunt Flow comes to visit. I’m sure this is not uncommon to me.

What’s good is whenever I’m in this mood, I am, for the most part, counting my blessings and am grateful. I more often than not act upon it by sending quick notes and personal messages over Facebook to people that bless my heart. Some that I can get hold of, I even give gifts to say thank you. Just a random thought I have for today. Life is good. Even though our circumstances, most of the time take our eyes off of the good things, we really should go right back to being thankful for the grace that God’s overflow us on a daily basis.

There is one thing that I have not failed to witness every single time I was on the road this past week – motorcycle riders who do not follow the law. Either they lack the necessary helmet that they need to wear while on the highway or they go on swerving no end. Practically asking for an accident to take place. There was even one night that I almost panicked when the motorcycle beside our car was practically swaying left and right – a drunk for its driver is a strong probability.

It is not a surprise if our everyday news comprise of at least two motorcycle accidents. The law is there all right. But some of the citizens who choose this kind of transportation, just won’t hear any of it. No, our law does not ever include the need for garmin zumo 665 motorcycle gps. It’s really all pretty basic and what’s the best most can do? Get hold of a sub standard helmet instead of a reliable brand. All these are few of the reasons why I do not approve of anyone in our family purchasing a motorcycle any time soon, not even in the future. I confess, despite my resolve to be more confident about roaming around the metro since I was armed with a Garmin, I really don’t feel like driving most of the time. Believe it or not, I still find myself lost within the metropolis the few times I attempt to drive myself some place.

One of the reasons is that I cannot figure out how to download updated maps on the Garmin chirp. The maps that it loads are not updated with our ever changing u-turn slots and one way streets. This does not help much that I am so bad with directions.

Yesterday, I posted on my Facebook wall: “zero backlog before the day ends.” My six year old son works on a goal he sets for himself everyday, I thought I should do that too. Bad news though. I was only able to finish half the task that I had in mind to finish yesterday. But beat myself up, I won’t.

I confess that blogging took a backseat as I prioritize more important things in my schedule. Homeschooling comes first. Then va work next. I blog when I have time. I am now working on my blogging backlogs and boy are they plenty. I would love to enjoy the beach next week without thinking I have pending tasks to work on. A friend who just came from Boracay enjoyed the beach and rented 4×4 atv truck wheels. That’s part of our to do list. With a tot in tow, we’re still figuring out how.

So blogging away, I am, for the next few days before we fly to the summer capital of Manila.

It was our intention that we do not have a cable subscription. With my nature of my work and schedule, there really is not much time left for television watching for this family. If we would at all turn on the tv, it would be because my son will play Wii or Xbox (1hr max per day tops).

We find it also beneficial that we don’t have cable tv. Truth be told, even local channels are impossible to watch. Not because of the for the most part depressing news that are flashed each day. But because tv antennas that were installed outside our home were eaten up by our neighbor’s crawling vines. It would be such a pain to have those taken out or adjusted. Not to mention, dangerous, because of its height.

We’re still stalling on this. Maybe when we finally have the construction done, we will go on right ahead with it. But we hope to subscribe on certain channels. We haven’t really looked into the different offers of cable companies. But we’re definitely not getting a satellite. Given the feedback that we get from my mom who is a subscriber of one satellite company.

Can you believe that we’re already towards the second half of the year? Time flies so fast, doesn’t it? A lot has happened during the first half of this year and we cannot thank God enough for sustaining us like he did. He is indeed faithful!

We’re still pushing through with homeschooling. In fact, our son is now in Grade 2/ Level 2. For his first week, he finished a total of 7 PACES. If he will remain at that rate, he will be done with Level 2 early September. Then he’ll be off to Level 3. I used to think that we will need one of those top netbooks, just in case we’ll be doing our homeschool class elsewhere. As sufficient as the curriculum is, we are pretty much still into researching the internet for some random stuff we would like to explore and study on from time to time.

Here’s hoping to an even more blessed second half of 2011. More than the blessings we receive from God. We pray to be able to press on doing the things that God has purposed for us to do. Praying that this will remain to be our heart as we go about the things we do on a daily basis.

The last time I went to see my chiropractor was in 2005. I know I have been slacking and even as I was intending to go see him last year because of the worsening back pain I felt when I was still doing 3 virtual assistant jobs then. I had to keep myself sane and healthy. So I did which was but inevitable. Outsource.

Outsourcing was the best thing I have ever done since I started working from home. It can be done. Given a reliable remote secretary and a good and constant job coming in. I am looking into seeing a chiropractor soon. I have time for it now. But I might need to see someone else who lives close by. I hope to find someone who is good at what he does and is duly certified and have finished chiropractic technologist program. Just to be sure that I am in good hands.

We’re flying to Bohol today and we are so thrilled! It will be our first time to go to the celebrated place and we have arranged everything we need – airport transfers, hotel booking and travel itinerary.

I am pausing from all online work from now until the 27th. It is a great thing that I have my ever reliable personal va who I can outsource some work for me while I go take a vacation with my family. I already miss updating my blogs. Yes, especially my beauty blog, which is more than just about how to get rid of pimples. I need to update my readers about what happened after more than two months of the Meso-Lipo procedure. The marks are more prominent than ever. I don’t know how the medical clinic will get this corrected. I will go visit and show the doctor next week and they have got to have a resolution for this. It is disappointing to say the least.

Meanwhile, I will just soak in the beautiful beaches of Bohol, enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and just spend quality time with my boys.

I have always been passionate about the things that I believe in – especially when it comes to my faith and things about parenting advocacies. I have encountered some who have frowned down on me and my beliefs. But integrity dictates that I stand for what I believe in. There are a host of things a toddler can say that can really sound silly. With a chatterbox for a kid as ours, you will be sure that I can just about fill up a at least a couple of pages for every new thing the little guy says on a daily basis. When I homeschool him, I try as much as I can to tell him that he is supposed to work on his PACES silently. Just like what he will be told to do if he was enrolled in a PACES curriculum school. Whenever I remind him, he go to a silent hums.

He loves singing, reading about things and narrating the things back to us whatever it is he learned. From the story of Pinocchio to how tattoo removal works, which he read about in a magazine lying around in the house.

Boredom is a word that is practically unheard of when you step in our home.
