Saving up for something big

The Lord has been extremely gracious to our family even as we welcomed the new year. We wouldn’t have thought that after the catastrophe that Ondoy has left us with, we would be able to experience such blessings this 2010. We are more than grateful as we cheerfully give back what is due Him through our tithes and offerings.

Although the 1989 car is now fixed after getting submerged in the flood during typhoon Ondoy, it is not anymore as efficient as it was. It has been having hiccups and would get us nervous every so often as it threatens to get us stranded in the middle of the national road. We have been praying for a car replacement since last year. Because honestly if we sum up all the car repair costs that it’s going to need, it will all deem not not worth it anymore. We might as well pay for a monthly installment for a brand new one.

So while everybody in our online community are getting hold of their brand new gadgets like xbox 360, swooning over the recently launched iPad, et.al. We stay where we are, saving up, as if no extra income is coming. Even as the months come closer and closer until we acquire a spanking car that the Lord will bless us with.
