Lemongrass juice recipe

It has been years since I have discovered the health benefits of drinking lemongrass (tanglad) juice. The family is so used to it, that the moment I get too busy to make one, my little guy would beg me to cook another batch for him. It is my first aid during times that our son gets a cold bug or flu. It is also what I use for joint pain relief. I have been an arthritis sufferer since I was 19 years old! It runs in the blood. Most of the siblings of my mom have it.

Here’s my recipe of lemongrass juice:
1. Wash a sheaf of lemongrass. Cut the leaves an inch long. The ideal is to have a plant in your own backyard. Just so you are sure that no pesticides are used. I always soak my fruits and vegetables in water with a little vinegar. It’s the most natural way to rid your produce of unwanted chemicals or whathaveyous.

2. Dunk the cut lemongrass leaves to boiling water. Let stand for 5 minutes.

3. Let the concoction cool.

4. Pour in some calamansi. I always use 10 or more per 2 liters of lemongrass juice.

5. Add honey to taste.

6. Refrigerate.
