Who doesn’t know Apl.de.Ap of Black Eyed Peas. He has made such name in the music industry and even for someone who does not have a particular liking to the genre of his songs, I have come to respect and love his music, especially after having heard of the MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration.

Apl.de.Ap primarily came up with Jeepney Music to give back to the Philippines in mind and being true to the cause, the collaboration that gave birth to MTV Emerge opens the door for unsigned, aspiring Filipino artists who can show the world the great Filipino talent. This project makes me proud of being a Filipino, to say the least. As I browsed through MTV Emerge and viewed a few music videos, I especially had this liking and eventually voted for God Bless Philippines by Rapnophobia.

MTV Emerge is a platform that opens the door for music talents that are unsigned to promote their music and seven that will be chosen by the judges (which includes Apl.de.Ap) on November 20, will be given a year long contract.
